Badgerland Chevy will once again be presenting its Taste of Madison event over Labor Day Weekend. More than 150,000 people are expected to attend.
Over 80 local restaurants will be offering 6 ounces or less serving size food items ranging from $1 to $6. Food will range from tacos, falafel, chicken wings, beef pies, and pasta to roasted corn, jerk pork, and gyros. Treats will include cupcakes, soft pretzels, donuts, and ice cream. A panel of 200 judges will be deciding this year's winners of the best of taste awards prior to the festival.
Over 25 beverage vendors will sell sodas and water for $4, domestic beer $8 for 16 ounces and $12 for 24 ounces, craft beer $8 for 16 ounces, $13 for 24 ounces and cans $5. Seltzers will cost $8 a 12- ounce can and wine will be $8 per pour and $15 for double pours. Wines may be purchased in 10-ounce souvenir glasses sporting the event's graphic design for $25.
An art fair, farmer's market, and more than 30 musical performances on three stages, will be taking place during the festival.
This will be a fundraiser for local Dane County non-profit groups.
This year's Taste of Madison will be Saturday, August 31st from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, September 1st from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Capitol Square. Admission will be free.
