Isthmus Dance Collective will be holding its Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival in Madison in early September.
Attendees are invited to don their walking shoes - or grab their roller skates, scooters, or bikes - and head for the dance performances all along the Capital City Trail.
The bike path will feature dances in Wirth Court Park (2801 St, Paul Avenue) from noon to 5:15 pm, by the butterfly garden in Brittingham Park (110 S. Brittingham Place) from noon to 5:15 pm, at Olin Park Vantage (202 E Lakeside Street) from noon to 5:10, and in McPike Park (202 S Ingersoll Street) from noon to 6:00 pm.
Dance groups at Wirth Court Park will include Aubry Daily, Studio Dansu, and Styles Defied Crew of the Hitterz Collective. Some preforming groups at Brittingham Park will be Scratch Dance, Swing State Aerial, and the Breakthrough Dance Company. McPike Park will feature eight groups, including Flamenco and Spanish Dance, Tap Dance and Jazz, and Fin De Fiesta. Olin Park Vantage will feature Wingspan Dance, Amy Slater, Malachi Squires, and Red Herrings.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, small shade umbrellas, bug repellent, and sunscreen.
Individual and Corporate Gifts, both in-kind and monetary, are greatly appreciated and will go to the Collective’s general fund to support free performances, public services such as community outreach programs, and classes.
This year’s Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival will be on September 4 from noon to 6:00 pm.
