Many runners here in Madison are training for the upcoming 41st Annual Crazylegs Classic 8k Run and 2k Walk coming at the end of April.
Over 12,000 people are expected to congregate on State Street and Capitol Square, both to compete and to raise money for UW Athletics.
Participants in the 8k will line up at Library Mall, head down State Street, and finish at Camp Randall Stadium. Those taking the 2k Walk will also line up at Library Mall, take a shorter route and end at the Camp Randall Stadium.
Runners may pre-register online as individuals for $40 for the 8k Run or $35 for the Walk. They can alternatively sign up as members of Fun and Fitness teams (which can be up to 10 members) for $45 for the 8k and $35 for the Walk.
Swag will include Under Armour Locker T-Shirts sporting this year’s CrazyLegs graphic design, race bibs equipped with on-course timing chips (for the 8k only) and admission to the post race party. Fun and Fitness team members will receive Wisconsin Athletics Motion ‘W’-branded gifts.
Packet pickup will be from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Kohl Center, 601 W. Dayton Street on April 28, or from 7:00 am to 9:00 am on race day.
The 8k Run will step off at 10:00 am and the 2k Walk will begin at 10:20 am on Saturday, April 29. The event will end around noon.
