Rock and roll legend to strut into Madison

Later this week, Madison baby-boomers and anyone else who enjoys rock and roll can spend an evening reminiscing to the laid-back folk rock songs of singer/songwriter Jackson Browne.

Browne will be accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and piano. He will be playing selections from his entire collection.

Listeners are likely to remember and sing along to the likes of ‘Running on Empty’, ‘The Load-out/Stay’, ‘Somebody’s Baby’ and ‘The Pretender’? Other favorites of this songwriter, who also made his name as a political and environmental activist, include ‘Before the Deluge’, ‘You Love the Thunder’ and ‘Here Come Those Tears Again’. He has written and published around 150 songs.

Back in June, Inside Recordings announced the 40th anniversary reissue of Browne’s ‘Late for the Sky’ album, which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1975. It reached Platinum status in 1989. R&R enthusiasts working for graphic design or Print campanies may remember the somewhat-moody ‘Late for the Sky’ album cover that resembled a Rene Magritte painting. Later this year, he will be releasing a new studio album, which will be his 13th of a musical carrer spanning almost 50 years.
