Quad Capital Partners is spearheading the development. The proposal shows that that the developer plans to put up a 14-story building with 337 units that will provide 17,000 square feet of space for commercial activities on Wilson Street. Graphic design can be used to provide a mock-up of what the project will look like when completed.
Perhaps the most eye-catching part of the proposal is a plan for a promenade, which will be 34 feet wide and two stories high. Mike Verveer, the Alderman for District 4, believes that the promenade will provide great access to Lake Monona. He also said:
“My greatest excitement about this is the public access that the developers have promised in terms of use of the lake. So their public promenade concept is outstanding as is the fact they have agreed to open up the building so it is not just restricted to restaurant customers.”
The developers have held multiple meetings with the public to hear their views on the proposal. Most of the questions were about zoning regulations and how the development will affect traffic. Lake Monona is bordered on three sides by the city of Madison, with Fitchburg also nearby.
Once the promenade is completed it will be open to the general public, as well as the building’s residents.
