The annual Dane County Fire Truck Parade has been scheduled for early October, and this will be followed a couple of weeks later by the Chili Cook Off for a Cause.
The Dane County Fire Truck Parade, which has been around for more than 20 years, will once again be rolling down State Street to Capitol Square in early October. Hosted by the Madison Fire Department on State Street and the Dane County Fire Chiefs Association, the event will feature fire trucks from across the county. The trucks will be on display around the Capitol Square after the parade.
Family activities will run from noon to 2:00 pm at the Top of State. The parade will begin at 1:00 pm, and a special month-long downtown StoryWalk will have a fire prevention theme. State Street businesses will have fire safety items for scavenger hunt participates to find and will offer “hot” shopping deals throughout the day. Local restaurants and eateries will be selling spicy drinks and fiery food specials.
The Fire Truck Parade is scheduled for October 9th.
