This year and this year only, Taste of Madison is being renamed “Off the Square” as the location has temporarily changed from downtown Madison to Breeze Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin Street.
In this more controlled environment, the event will continue its fundraising tradition with proceeds going to local charities and non-profits.
Over 40 food vendors will be selling all those community favorite dishes from local restaurants. A panel of 50 judges will choose this year’s Best of Taste Award, along with other awards in 14 categories (American, appetizer, Asian, BBQ, gourmet dessert, homestyle dessert, ethnic, healthy, Italian, kid pleasing, Mexican, Southern-style, Southwestern, and vegetarian). Attendees will vote for the Peoples’ Choice award.
Tickets are $10 and three timeslots (10:00 am to 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm) are available for both days.
Saturday and Sunday entertainment will consist of air brush tattoos, balloon artists, and meet and greets with local team mascots such as D.C. Eagle and Maynard G. Mallard. From 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Saturday, Aranda with Foo Foo Dolls will be presented by Solid Rock 94.1 JJO. The Sunday will see Madison County with The Hounds presented by Madison’s Country Q 106.
Fans who attend these events often wear their favorite group’s T-Shirts, headbands, hats, and other wearable paraphernalia featuring their identifiable Logo Design.
Off the Square Taste of Madison will be September 4 and 5.
