New date confirmed for Bird & Nature Festival

All bird and nature outings at the various Madison City locations and parks have been cancelled until at least the end of April. However, City of Madison Parks Division is putting information about self-guided walks on its websites, and one such event is being rescheduled.

The 2020 Bird & Nature Festival has been postponed until June 28. This will be the 8th year for the Earth Day commemorative event.

At that time, Open Door Bird Sanctuary Executive Director, Rob Hults will be giving live raptor bird presentations throughout the afternoon. Over 25 local nature-centered organizations, societies, foundations, and recreation centers will have displays featuring information about the programs, flora, and fauna they represent.

Guests who enjoy nature presentations like this one often ask the facilitator for Business Cards. That way, they can get in touch to schedule the presentation for another venue at a later date.

Hands-on exhibits, activities, and nature explorations will include prairie seeding, pond dipping, group nature walk and make-and-take wildflower seed bombs. Guests can go on hayrides, get their faces painted, and the little ones can enjoy the bounce houses.

Local eateries will have booths and food trucks onsite offering treats for purchase.

The 2020 Bird & Nature Festival will be held in Warner Park, 2930 North Sherman Avenue, on June 28 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Admission will be free.
