Madison mustard connoisseurs will be heading for The National Mustard Museum’s Mustard Day, otherwise known as Big Yellow Day, to celebrate National Mustard Day coming at the beginning of August.
The event will feature a street festival where the French’s Music Stage will have The Blue Accordion presenting the Mustard Day Overture at 10:00 am, followed by the Dean of Poupon U, Dr. Mustard, emceeing the opening ceremony at 10:30 am. The John Masino Band will play at 11:00 am and Frank Martin Busch and the Names will entertain from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Big Mustard Day 50/50 raffle will take place at 4:00 pm.
The Mustard Museum Family Tent will have interactive “Kids are People” shows at 11:30 am, 1:15 pm, and 2:45 pm. Hubbard Avenue Diner Pie Walks will take place between the shows.
Souvenir T-Shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design will be in the Mustard Marketplace. Guests may get their faces painted and meet the French’s Mustard mascot. Games will include feed the curator, fishing for mustard, lucky mustard dice, mustard bowling, Plochman’s Spinning Wheel of Mustard Fortune, and French’s Mustard Ring Toss.
Meet the Mustard Makers! will have Plackman’s, Gorman Thomas, and Kelley’s meeting and greeting guests.
Mustard Day will be Saturday, August 5 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Mustard Museum, 7477 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton.
