Madison to have its curiosity unleashed

Madison will soon get the opportunity to experience Wisconsin’s Science Festival.

The city will be the hub of the more than 200 statewide science related activities, and the theme here will center on food.

One of the exhibits and demonstrations will be Wisconsin Fare, where ticket holders will get to sample three items prepared by professional local chefs who will be using items highlighting ingredients from here in the state.

Also during this activity, goers will get to also enjoy another event – ‘Made in Wisconsin’. This will be a meet, greet, play, and eat where more than 24 Wisconsin companies and entrepreneurs will be demonstrating their inventions, such as tools and toys, and passing out their local fare. No doubt those involved will be preparing their digital Business Cards right now.

Other activities will be ‘The Science of Manhattans, with Andre Darlingon’, and ‘Pickled: The Science of Bloody Marys’. A chocolate-tasting presentation will discuss the physical behavior of the sweet treat, and how it relates to making that perfect cup of hot chocolate. Since hot chocolate is an emulsion, the topic will also include what an emulsion is and how to create a perfect one. Guests will get to sample different flavors and receive a mug of the stuff at the end of the evening.

The event will be located at the Discovery Building, 330 North Orchard Street, on October 22 through 25.
