In a few days, the 11th Annual Madison Mini-Marathon will feature a half marathon and a 5K.
For 2019, runners will receive instant photos of the race, race shirts featuring the event graphic design, finishers medals that double as can openers, and a 14th-mile Post-Race Party. Participants will also receive virtual race Bags.
Cheer Challenge stations will be along the race path to encourage racers to keep their momentum up. Awards of $1500, $1000, $500, and two at the $250 level will be given to winners of the Cheer Challenge.
The Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Drive will hold an expo from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm the day before the race. Local running-themed businesses and organizations will be selling merchandise, no doubt carrying their Logo Design.
A Kids’ Run will begin at 10:00 am, which will be for children under the age of 11. The run will be non-competitive and all runners will get a race bib sporting the number 1, T-Shirts, and medals.
The half marathon and 5K will begin at 7:00 am and registration for the half marathon will be $95 until tomorrow, August 15, and $110 at the expo. The 5K race fee will be $45 until tomorrow and $45 at the expo.
Madison Mini will start at the intersection of Langdon and Lake this Saturday, August 17. The 5K will begin at State Street Mall and Bascom Hill, and the kids’ races will be at University and Park.
