Madison runs marathon
Many runners in Fleet Feet training programs are putting the Madison Marathon on their calendars for mid-November.
Madison Marathon will offer in-person and virtual full marathon, half marathon, and 10k runs. Registration before September 30 for both the in-person and virtual full marathons is $140, while it is $115 for the half marathons, and $70 for the 10ks.
Swag includes free race photos, long-sleeved shirts sporting the event graphic design, finisher medals, professional timing, post-race meals, and complimentary beverages.
Overall male and female marathon winners will receive $1,500 for first place, $750 for second place, and $375 for third place. Overall male and female half marathon winners will get $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third. Awards will also go to the top three male and female finishers in 12 age groups, Master division (over 40), and first wheelchair finisher. Awards for age groups and overall winners will go to winners of the 10k.
Packets containing race bibs, safety pins, timing chips, race shirts and swag bags will be available at the expo at Monona Terrace Friday, November 10 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 11 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The expo will also feature vendors and official merchandise.
