Two races that benefit good causes are scheduled for Madison over the next few weeks. One will be the Henry Vilas Zoo Run Wild 2021 and the other the Safe Harbor Labor Day Dash.
The Henry Vilas Zoo will be having its annual Run Wild 5k walk/run, 10k run and Kids 1-mile Fun Run August 31st. This run will be for pollinator awareness and the proceeds will to the zoo and AZA SAFE. All adult runners will receive a choice of butterfly, bat or bee socks and kids will get finisher medals.
The Run Wild 10k starts at 7:00 am, the 5k at 7:30 am and the kids’ run at 10:30 am at Lake Wingra in the Henry Vilas Zoo, 702 S. Randall Avenue.
Safe Harbor Labor Day Dash 2021 5k will be a community walk/run, an event to benefit the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center. Along with the 5k with a stroller division there will be a 10 k race. A free Tot Trot for kids under eight years old will take place at 8:40 am.
The Safe Harbor Labor Day Dash will be Monday, September 6th at Vilas Park Shelter, 1602 Vilas Park Drive, with registration starting at 7:45 am and the 5k and 10 k races beginning at 9:00 am.
