Spring is the time when many Madison outdoor enthusiasts don their sneakers and participate in both in-person and virtual races, several of which are now on the schedule.
Runners can sign up anytime from now until May 31 to run the virtual It’s Glow Time! 5k. Glow-in-the-dark swag includes T-Shirts sporting the event graphic design, 5k finisher medals, glowsticks, and light-up necklaces. Race packets will be mailed upon registration.
Also, A Spring Run Series 5k/10k in Fitchburg’s McKee Farms Park can be joined as a three-set bundle for $65 or individually for $25 each. All runs will begin at 8:00 am and end around 10:00 am.
The first evening in this series, The Leprechaun Run, is scheduled for this Saturday, March 20. Participants will receive a pot of “gold” chocolate coins at the finish line. The Hop Haus Hop & Little Bunny Run will be April 3. Runners will receive candy-filled eggs while the little runners will be given baskets to collect eggs along their run. The last run, Earth Day Dash, will be April 17. Proceeds will go to replacing ash trees on McKee Farms Park.
Swag for the Spring Run Series will include official race bibs, gender-specific T-shirts for those participating in all three races (shirts for each race can be purchased for $10), free tacos, sundaes and ice cream cone coupons, and swag Bags.
