At least three Turkey Trots are scheduled for Madison during November.
The first one will be November 3. This will be the 33rd annual Madison College Turkey Trot 5K. The family-friendly 5K walk and the 5K run will take place from 10:00 am until noon. The course will be around Warner Park, 2930 N. Sherman Avenue. Early registration will be $25. There will also be a Turkey Trot Kids Race (a quarter mile) for the little ones.
Proceeds from this event will go to Thursday’s Child, an organization that helps children with terminal illnesses see their dreams to fruition. The event will also benefit the Madison College Foundation, which provides students with educational assistance.
Two Turkey Trots are scheduled for November 28th. One, The Madison Turkey Trot 5K Race (timed) and Walk (untimed), will be at the Alliant Energy Center starting at 8:30 am. A 5K Kid’s Division Fun Run will be for children 11 years old and younger. A special Kids’ Dash will begin at 8:15 am.
The other will be back at Warner Park starting at 8:00 am. Participants can pick up their bibs and shirts sporting the event’s graphic design, the afternoon before, at the park’s duck pond. The five-mile race will be chip timed and start at one line while the two-mile walk will begin at another line and not be timed. Slower participants and strollers must line up at the rear of their groups and dogs must line up last.
