Madison goes to Sugar Maple Music Festival

Many Madison traditional music fans will be heading to the 22nd Annual Sugar Maple Music Festival coming in early August.

The outdoor family-friendly two-day festival will present traditional dance and music through performances, interactive jam sessions and educational workshops.

The main stage will feature formal performances while the Roots and Reason Stage will have educational workshops, interviews, demonstrations and interactive jams.

On Friday evening beginning at 5:00 pm, the Main Stage will have Brennan Edwards, Katie and the Honky Tonks, Kristin Andreassen and Chris Eldridge, and the Jason Cater Band. On Saturday beginning at noon the stage will feature MadFiddle, Ironstill, The Cody Sisters, Lizzie No, The Cajun Snowshoes, and John Reischman and the Jaybirds. The Deslondes will end the evening's lineup.

Activities for the kids will include special workshops, art and music.

Two-day passes will be $70 at the gate; Friday only will be $40, and Saturday only will be $50 at the gate. Kids under the age of 18 will not need tickets.

Food and beverage vendors will be onsite with snacks and drinks available for purchase. Vendors that sell at events like this often have local print shops print colorful graphic designs on paper products.
