This July, the Dane County Fair will be held here in Madison.
Knockerball, Draft Horse Youth, FMX Freestyle Motocross, Wheels of Agriculture, a kids’ farm, and a carnival will take place daily.
The opening day will offer model horse, sheep, and guinea pig shows, and a dairy showmanship clinic. Events include the Madison Roller Derby and a Communication Arts Festival.
Friday’s themes will include rabbit, swine, dairy showmanship, cat, horse, and sheep show. This will also be Kids’ Day with Agri-versity activities, a kiddie tractor pedal pull, and a junior sheep show.
Proud parents of young winners of events such as this occasionally take pictures of their kids at their awards’ ceremonies to local Print shops for duplicates for family and friends.
Saturday’s activities will include the Adopt a Dairy Cow program and an Exotic Animal Show. At 11:00 am there will be a Dane County Farm Bureau Scavenger Hunt and the Fabulous Farm Babe Tractor Parade. A rooster crowing contest will be held at noon, the Wisconsin Singers will perform at 1:30 pm, and a 4-H dance will begin at 7:00 pm.
Sunday will begin with an English horse show and a Master Showman contest. A Dress-A-Critter contest will be followed by Rockstars in the Ring, and awards and 4-H graduation.
Dane County Fair will run from July 21 through 24 at the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way.
