Madison fishing and golf fans head for surf and turf challenge

Clean Lakes Alliance, Inc. will be holding its 12th annual Waubesa Surf ’n Turf challenge in early July.

The golfing competition will consist of a three-man Texas scramble start on 18 holes. All team members must hit all shots. After golfing, teams will continue on to the fishing component of the competition. Each team’s fishing score will be the total number of inches of gamefish (legal) caught. The final score will be the golf score minus the fishing score. Prizes will go to the low net teams and the low gross teams.

For a $10 entrance fee, fishermen (and fisherwomen) can enter the Big Fish Contest. There will be a cash award for winners that catch the largest muskie, pike, walleye, and legal bass.

Registration includes lunch, dinner, swag bags, green fees, and live virtual scoring.

Sponsorships include promotional products for swag bags and business logo design on golf carts.

Check-in for the golf part of the day will begin at 6:45 am. The shotgun start will be at 7:30 am. Lunch buffet will begin at 11:00 am at Bergtamont. At 12:30 pm fishing will start on Lake Waubesa. All catch must be in for registration before 4:30 pm. Prizes and steaks await participants at 5:00 pm at Christy’s Landing.

Waubesa Surf ‘N Turf Challenges will be July 8th from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm at Legend at Bergamont 699 Bergament Blvd. Oregon.
