Irish celebration to come to Madison

Madison's annual Shamrock Shuffle and parade is set to kick off this year's St. Patrick's Day celebrations in mid-March.

The 2024 Madison Shamrock Shuffle will have 10k and 5k runs, a 5k walk and virtual options. All runs and walks will have $50 registration fees, and students of the University of Wisconsin–Madison will receive a 25% discount.

Race swag will include a race bib, a T-shirt featuring this year's graphic design for the event, professional timing, snacks, and refreshments at the finish line, along with medals for the winners in each of the 10k and 5k's 12 age categories.

Proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County in supporting their McKenzie Regional Workforce Center, and for Pre-school, In-School and After-School programs.

Race packets may be picked up at Fleet Feet Sun Prairie from 2:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, March 14 and at Fleet Feet Middleton from 2:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, March 15.

Race packets will also be available for pickup from 7:00am to 7:45am on race day. The 10k will begin at 8:15am, followed by the 5K walk/run at 8:25am.

The in-person races will begin Saturday, March 16 on the 600th Block of State Street.

The 24th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will step off at Capitol Square on the following day, at 1:30pm. Proceeds will benefit Carbone Cancer Center, GiGi's Playhouse and Logan's Heart and Smiles.
