Fun comes to the neighborhood this weekend

The Neighborhood Park Festival begun last year in Madison was so successful that the Meadowood Neighborhood Association has decided to run the festival again this year.

Just like last year, the event will be free to attend and teeming with local talent, dance, and music. Also, a community supper will be set up again, and everyone who comes is asked to bring food to share. Grills will be available.

There will also be activities for the children and arts and craft vendors will be selling their wares, so guests are advised to bring money. Tables will be set up for community organizations to distribute information.

Live entertainment will begin with the Oak Apple Morris Dancers, who will be followed by music makers Omulu Capoeira, Mark Croft, Mark Annabel Lee, and the band Null Device. After an hour’s break for the community supper, Gabe Burdulis will finish the night with a slowed down musical performance.

The afternoon should prove to be an opportunity for families to have fun while meeting and bonding with neighbors. Art and craft vendors should consider having business card printing done to share with the people they meet.

The festival will be held Saturday, August 16, 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Meadowood Park, 5810 Thrush Lane (on the corner of Leland Drive and Thrush Lane), Madison.
