Equine event returns to Madison

The Midwestern Horse Council will be presenting this year's Midwest Horse Fair, featuring three days of rodeos, challenges, and exhibitions in mid-April.

Hundreds of exhibitors, from 4-H Used Tack Sale to A Spotted Pony LLC to Zero Proof Horse Treats & Barn Dog Bites, will be on hand selling everything to do with horses, including saddles, trailers, flair strips, halters and tack. Guests can also enjoy food choices ranging from corn on the cob and fries to pizza and corn dogs. Other vendors will be selling roofing, cutlery, soaps, and candles. Clothing vendors at events like this often sell merchandise sporting the event's graphic design.

PRCA Rodeo will return to the Blain's Farm and Fleet Coliseum on the Friday and Saturday for two days of broncs, bulls and barrels. Events will include bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bareback riding, and saddle bronc riding.

Stallion Avenue will be a stallion revue, and competitors will take part in the World Championship Blacksmiths' Trial by Fire. Over $5,000 in prizes will be awarded to winners in the Top Hand Challenge.

Proceeds from the fair will go to fostering Wisconsin's equine industry and to aid future development and growth of the industry through education, leadership, communication, and service.

The Midwest Horse Fair will take place Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21 at Alliant Energy Center, 191 Alliant Center Way.
