The Dane County Fair will be coming to the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, in mid-July.
The family-friendly event will feature nightly concerts, carnival, food and commercial vendors, youth projects, the Wildlife in Need Center, Learning Lane, and special shows such as the Stingray Encounter, Magical Bubbles, and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show.
Thursday’s opening day will include the Madison Roller Derby, Sheep and Horse Shows, Dairy Showmanship clinic, and a Communication Arts Festival.
Friday’s special events will be Swine and Cat Shows, Little Shepards Sheep, and the Kiddie Tractor Pedal Pull.
Saturday will feature Kiddie Farm, Dairy Goats, Exotic Animals Show, Small Animal Market, and a 4-H Dance.
Finally, Sunday’s attendees will be treated to Dress-A-Critter, Rockstars in the Ring, 4-H Graduation, and awards presentations. Proud Madison parents often take pictures of their children, their projects, and awards. Some go so far as to get duplicate photos made at Print shops to be mailed to relatives and friends.
Live music entertainment will be Feudin’ Hillbillys on Thursday, Piano Fondue and Comedian Mike Brody on Friday, and the Wisconsin Singers on Saturday afternoon. Live 102.5 will take over the night entertainment with local talent. LaMovida will be making music all day Sunday.
Dane County Fair will run from July 20 through 23. Gates will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and events will run until 11:00 pm.
