Madison runners are gearing up for the 2021 Run Santa Run coming in early December.
Participants decide if they want to run/walk as elves, polar bears, or Santa and register for corresponding character hats, long-sleeved shirts, and accessories. Registration will be $45 until December 4 when prices go up to $50. Children under 12 can get registered for $20 until December 4, when prices increase to $25. Virtual runs cost $40.
Since this is not a timed event, there will be no awards. However, the first 25 runners to pass the Grinch will get free pizza from Ians Pizza. Each finisher medal will have a specific Santa, elf, or polar bear graphic design on a festive light blue ribbon sporting white snowflakes and green and red packages. There will also be a North Pole Post Race Party.
The course will have three stations and there will be one at the end of the race as well. Station One will be the Mistletoe/Kissing Station. Here, runners can eat a Hershey’s Kiss under the Mistletoe Truss. Station Two will be the Cookie Station, where runners can grab individually wrapped cookies as they pass by. Station Three will be the Candy Cane Station. Runners will receive their swag Bags containing hot chocolate packets when they get to the finish line station.
Run Santa Run will take place December 5 from 3:10 pm until 4:00 pm at Capitol Square, 20 W. Mifflin Street.
