Brat Fest comes over Memorial Day weekend

The free three-day Madison Brat Fest will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year over the Memorial Day weekend.

Twenty-five live music performances will run non-stop on three stages starting at 11:00 am each day. Starting at 8:00 pm, headliners will include 38 Special playing Southern Rock on Friday night, Joe Nickols and his old-school country music on Saturday evening, and metal band Queensryche on Sunday night. All performances will be free.

Fans of these bands may wish to wear T-Shirts or other band merchandise bearing their Logo Design.

Take Your Brat to Work will be Friday the 27th from 6:00 am to 9:00 am, and brats may be purchased on Willow Island or delivered.

Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways and Carnival will have more than 35 attractions and rides plus concessions. Tickets will be $1.50 each and most rides will require at least two. Twenty-five-dollar wristbands will be available on Friday beginning at 10:00 am.

A sports’ zone for adults will include Brattyball (volleyball) on Saturday, Brat Fest Mad-City Cornhole tournament on Sunday, and an adult obstacle course.

Kids can enjoy an art zone, giant inflatable balls, bounce zone and a kid’s zone that will have high-energy activities.

Brat Fest will be at the Alliant Energy Center on Willow Island and run Friday May 27th, Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Brats will be served from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm each day.
