A fun event for a good cause is on the schedule in Kenosha.
The Kenosha Literacy Council is presenting its “Battle of the Bookworms: A Trivia Night for Literacy.” The evening is KLC’s largest fundraiser of the year, and all proceeds go directly to support the Council’s programs in English literacy. These programs include one-on-one personalized tutoring, as well as group classes with a limited number of students. The Council wants to enable adult learners to improve their literacy so they have more opportunities for personal growth, jobs, and community engagement.
The battling bookworms will work in teams to answer literary trivia questions before the buzzer sounds. People are encouraged to form teams and compete, or just relax and cheer for the teams. Sponsorships are also available.
Admission includes a cash bar, dinner, and dessert. A silent auction is planned with a variety of baskets as prizes. The evening is also a chance for people to do something good for the community, by supporting literacy in Kenosha. Organizers of events like this will often turn to a printing company that will use poster printing to create suitable advertising that can be posted in the local area.
Battle of the Bookworms: A Trivia Night for Literacy is scheduled for April 19, beginning at 5.30 pm. The venue is the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha. The campus is at 900 Wood Road.
