Kenosha in for tree-mendous time

Kicking off 2020 Kemper Center’s Christmas at Kemper will be the annual Gallery of Trees Opening Night Gala.

The gala will hold a silent auction and raffle, and will be home to fully decorated wreaths and trees. The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Proceeds will go to operation of the Kemper Center so it can continue with recreational, educational, and cultural programs and activities.

The 25 trees in the Gallery of Trees will be on display at the Kemper Conference Center from November 29 through December 6 in the Chemistry Lab area and down in Founders’ Hall.

Next door to the center is the historical Victorian Durkee Mansion, which will be ablaze with holiday tradition. Guests may stroll through wreaths and trees decorated for the season in the 1860s holiday style. This year the theme will be “Magical Lantern Glow” honoring Kemper Hall’s 50th anniversary.

Tree sponsors at the $500 Red, $750 Green, and $1,000 Gold levels must get their names and logos to the organization before this year’s event brochure printing. Any Kenosha area business may have its Logo Design placed on all 2020 Christmas at Kemper materials by signing up as one of nine sponsor opportunities that range from $250 to $3,000.

Gallery of Trees Opening Night Gala will take place on Saturday, November 28 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and the Durkee Mansion Open House will be November 29 from 1:00 pm unit 5:00 pm. Kemper Center is located at 6501 3rd Avenue.
