Kenosha fitness enthusiasts get to the core

The 2021 Hot Cider Hustle 5k Run/Walk will take place in mid-October.

The race for the more competitive runners will be chip-timed, and there will be an untimed 5K fun run as well. Pre-registration for the timed 5K run/walk, 5K untimed, and virtual 5K will be $36.

Swag will include navy blue long-sleeved shirts and finisher Mugs sporting this year’s white Logo Design. Runners can receive caramel apples and get their Mugs filled with hot apple cider after they cross the finish line.

The in-person course will be a loop on paved streets and trails. After starting at the park, runners will go north and turn east onto 56th street, run on Fisherman Drive past the Civil War Museum, turn around at the end of the lake, return on the trail passed the South Port Marina, down around Eichelman Park, and back to the start/finish line.

Awards will go overall male and female finishers, and to the top three female and male finishers in each of 12 age groups. Results will be posted on the event’s website.

Packets can be picked up between 7:15 am and 8:15 am on race day. The 5K will begin at 8:30 am. The time limit for the 5K will be 1 hour and 20 minutes. Proceeds will benefit the Hope Council on Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse.

This year’s 5K will be on October 17, beginning at Eichelman Park, 6125 3rd Avenue.
