Community to embrace August music festival

Those that attended the Peacetree Music Festival over the last three years will most likely be looking forward to this year’s festival coming in early August.

This family-friendly two-day event will be located on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Presale tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Peacetree, the Coffee Pot, Herbert’s Jewelry, and Union Park Tavern. Tickets on event day will be $20, and kids under the age of 12 will get in free.

Fans of bands such as The Dillweeds, The Rhythm Dogs, Old Shoe, Rust Belt, and Mountains on the Moon will want to see if these groups are returning again this year. The four-piece band, Peacetree Allstars, will certainly be back. These guys will once again be belting out classic rock, blues, and a little Grateful Dead.

Local vendors will be on site selling everything from soaps and oils to tie-dye shirts. Proceeds from the event’s beverage sales will to the Kenosha Achievement Center - an organization working with adults and children with special needs.

Many families that bring little ones to laid-back events such as this often have them wear colorful T-Shirts featuring the family graphic design on the front so they can keep track of them.

The 4th Annual Peacetree Music Festival will take place at the Sesquicentennial Bandshell at Pennoyer Park, 3601 7th Avenue on Friday, August 6 from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm, and Saturday the 7th from noon until 11:00 pm.
