Janesville locals can test their knowledge while supporting a good cause in just over a week’s time.

The 10th annual 'Trivia For Literacy' contest will consist of teams battling for the Trivia Champion title.

The Literacy Connection is putting on the event. The nonprofit organization helps local adults with reading, writing, and speaking skills.

A former Jeopardy champion and Janesville resident will be the host, and the contest will consist of two rounds with 100 questions each. Participants earn points from correct answers. After the two rounds culminate, the top two teams will go on to the next round. Those who win will be given a trophy, as well as bragging rights for an entire year.

Prior to the event, there will be a welcome reception in which individuals can enjoy appetizers, drinks, and conversation. With all the mingling going on, no doubt guests will headhunt a business card printing service to make memorable cards to distribute.

Event participation costs $40 per person or $180 per team of up to six people. Admission for spectators is $20, and registration needs to be completed by March 20.

The fun starts on March 25, beginning with the social hour at 5:30 pm. The trivia contest will start at 6:15 pm. It all takes place at the Hyatt Smith Commons, located on 2909 Kellogg Ave.
