Janesville dons winter flannel

People in Janesville will be donning their flannels and heading for this year's Downtown Janesville Inc.'s Flannelfest coming in late February.

Flannelfest event day will feature a VIP lunch from noon to 1:30 pm, music performance by the VanDwellers from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and a cornhole tournament beginning at 1:00 pm. Voting for the homebrew competition will close at 4:00 pm, and winners will be announced at 4:30 pm.

General admission will be $50, and VIP will be $100. General admission will include tastings of more than 90 craft beers, games, entrance to the cornhole and home brew tournaments, live entertainment, and participation in the lazy man run. Food will be available for purchase from local vendors. VIP tickets will add indoor access, exclusive beer selections, a commemorative VIP surprise, live music, a station to make pretzel necklaces, a special photo op area, and massages.

Flannelfest will take place Saturday, February 28 in Downtown Janesville. Events like this usually have merchandise printed with their logo or graphic designs by nearby Print shops.

The evening before the event, drafthouse, located at 101 E Milwaukee St, will have a pre-Flannelfest Beer Release at 5:00 pm, and Jack and Jenny's will offer a film screening of "Strange Brews" beginning at 8:00 pm on Friday. On the Sunday morning, drafthouse will serve a Lumberjack Breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and rosemary potatoes.
