The Second Annual Downtown Janesville Zombie Run will be coming in late October.
Participants are to dress in their most frightening monster costumes for the costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to best adult female, male, child female and male, group and dog. Second Salem Brewing Company will have a beer tent, and DJ Lalo will provide Halloween music.
Pictures taken at events like this often find their way to local Stationery printers to be used on Halloween-themed cards.
The 5k Zombie Run will cost $35 for adults and $25 for kids 18 and younger. The one-mile Zombie Walk will be $35 for adults and $25 for kids 18 years old and younger. Swag will include zombie finisher medals, glow stick necklaces and lime green t-shirts sporting this year's Zombie Run graphic design.
The 5k route will begin at BHCCU Festival Street and head along River Street going north. Racers will get a good view of the Rock River. Next it will wind westward through downtown and turn south near Town Square. There everyone may enjoy the large glowing Supermoon display as they pass by. The course will then proceed along Main Street where designated scare zones will have monsters and zombies lurking. The runners will loop back toward River Street going east and return to the starting line.
Both races will be from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at BHCCU Festival Street, 69 S. River Street, Saturday, October 25th.
