Traxler Park in Janesville will be featuring three water-skiing events on one day in late June.
The Mercury Open Water Ski Show Tournament will present its first competition of the season starting at 7:30 am. Teams will compete in one-hour shows and a panel of experts will judge them in ballet line, pyramids, barefoot, and doubles categories. The competition will end at 5:00 pm.
From 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the Wisconsin leg of Knotty Girls’ Flaunt It Swivel Ski Tournament will showcase the country’s women’s best swivel skiers. Judges will be looking for sitting and standing starts, toe and flip turns, toe deep swans, hand–to-hands, toe wraps, and forward and reverse overhead presses, including 180° to 1080° turns.
Also, the only freestyle water-ski jump contest happening at night in the Midwest, the Rock River Night Jump Competition, will begin at 8:00 pm and end around 9:30 pm. This event brings some of the country’s leading freestyle. Some areas judges will be rating will be take-offs, aerials, form, air (height and distance), landing, individual and dual moguls, and speed.
Vendor booths, food trucks, and concessions will be available all day. Ski teams often have pictures taken during events that go to local Print shops to be used in promotional materials.
These events will take place Saturday, June 26. Traxler Park is located at 600 N. Main Street.
