Chasing Chad, a non-profit organization that raises money for brain cancer research and patients, will be holding its annual Sundown Dash in Janesville in early August.
The 5k run/walk will be on a flat course that will be two out-and-back loops along Rock River and starts and ends with a 400-meter jaunt around Monterey Stadium’s track. A Kids Fun Run will be one time around the stadium’s 400-meter track.
The timed 5k run and untimed 5k walk will cost $30, and the start time will be 7:00 pm. Kids from the ages of one to twelve may run the Kids untimed Fun Run for $10. Their race will also begin at 7:00 pm. A 5k virtual option is also available for $30.
Participants may become fundraisers and create personal fundraiser pages on the event’s webpage. Single donations are also welcome. Local sponsors such as First National Bank and Trust and Great Smiles Dental like to support causes such as this to get their logo designs on the event’s website for community advertising exposure.
Volunteers are needed to fill cups and distribute water at the water station, direct runners at the turnaround, and to be the lead biker. At least four will be needed to direct runners along the course.
Race results will be posted on the event’s website. Sundown Dash will be Wednesday, August 2 at Monterey Park, 501 Rockport Road.
