Roaming Rich gives walking tours of Janesville

Local tour guide Roaming Rich will be giving walking tours through Janesville in May.

Next Saturday, May 1, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Roaming Rich will be heading a one-hour walking tour of the Historic District’s Courthouse Hill. He will be discussing the architecture of old local homes and gardens. The group will meet at Jefferson Park.

On Thursday, May 6 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, he will meet the group at the Lincoln–Tallman House Museum and direct a walk through the West Historic District.

Highlighting Janesville’s present, past and future, Roaming Rich will conduct a walking tour of Downtown Janesville on Thursday, May 13 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Participants will meet him at the Janesville Town Square.

On Saturday, May 15 at 10:00 am, he will meet walkers at St. Patrick’s Church for a one-hour tour of Old Fourth Ward Historic District.

Jefferson Avenue and Forest Park Boulevard Historic Districts will be the focus of Roaming Rich’s one-hour walking tour on Thursday, May 20. Rich will meet participants at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Van Buren Street at 6:00 pm.

On May 22, he will tour the Columbus Circle, and on May 27 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm he will end the month the same as he began with a tour of Courthouse Hill.

Tour guides often get brochure printing completed beforehand so they can pass out information on upcoming tours. Tours are $10 each and preregistration is required.
