Riverside Park offers music and chicken

Lions Club Chicken on the Grill and Riverside Music Festival have once again teamed up to present a day of food and fun in Riverside Park coming in mid-August.

Grilled half-chicken dinners, including baked potatoes and applesauce, will be waiting for attendees for most of the day. Chips and hotdogs will also be available. The chicken dinners cost $13 and the hot dog meals will be $3. Water and soda will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the meals will go to local service projects undertaken by the Janesville Lions Club.

A shuffleboard tournament and a pickleball demonstration will begin at 1:00 pm. Other family-friendly activities will include a Home Depot Project, the Book Mobile, a splash pad, a raffle, and face painting. There will also be clowns, a bounce house, and a Kids Corner.

Music for the free Riverside Music Festival will also begin at 11:00 am. Gas Can Alley will play from 11:00 am unit 2:00 pm, and Rainbow Bridge will take over at 3:00 pm and perform until 6:00 pm. Guests are invited to bring their own blankets and chairs.

Service clubs such as Lions Clubs often take pictures at these fundraisers. Many pics go to local Print shops to be added to the organization’s membership drive brochure printing.

The Lions Chicken Roast and the Riverside Music Festival will take place August 15 at the Riverside Park North Pavilion, 2200 Parkside Drive.
