Janesville residents can celebrate Halloween early at a series of non-scary events at Palmer Park.
First, families can enjoy the award-winning enchanted forest. This candlelit walk takes participants through eight fairytale and nursery rhyme scenes with props. Drama club actors will dress up as characters such as Cinderella and Goldilocks.
For more fun, attendees can also take a hayride through the scenes. Some characters may even come aboard the wagon. After the hayride, guests can walk around the grounds and check out goblin games, barrel rides, and vendors selling food and glow-in-the-dark items.
Finally, on one special night, children can dress up and enjoy walking along the ‘trick-or-treat trail’ where characters will be passing out candy and other trinkets. A banner printing service is sure to have been asked to make a large sign directing attendees to the trail.
Admission to the forest costs $2.50 for kids and $1.50 for adults. Hayrides cost $3 per person and the trick-or-treat trail is $2 per child.
The Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride will be held on October 21 and 22 from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm, and also on October 23 and 24 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. The Trick-or-Treat trail will be open on October 25 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
