Locals welcome Valentines Day with race

Athletes can put on some winter running gear and get in the Valentine’s Day spirit with an upcoming race.

The ‘Be Mine 5K’ is a fun, manually-timed run or walk through downtown Janesville.

The nonrefundable registration costs $38 and participants can register as an individual or create a team. The first 100 who register will be given a special ‘Be Mine’ finishers medal.

In addition, those who register on or before Monday, February 9 will receive a ‘Relationship Hoodie’ that allows individuals to make a statement about their relationship status such as ‘Might be Looking’ or ‘It’s Complicated’.

To promote the race, it is likely Janesville Print companies created Flyers and Postcards to distribute to the local community.

Registrants will also get a drink ticket to be used at Hhffrrrggh Restaurant and Bar, where the post-race festivities will take place. Participants are encouraged to wear their relationship hoodie at the event’s after party. The establishment has a full menu, a bar with a television, and a large banquet room.

It all takes place next Saturday, February 14. Check-in and race day registration begins at 10:00 am and the race starts at 11:00 am. Hhffrrrggh is located on 731 South Wuthering Hills.
