The Hedberg Public Library will soon be celebrating Peace Week. All activities will be free and will not require registration.
A ‘Peace Meditation’, after which the peace pole’s new plaques will be unveiled and a peace tree will be planted, will be followed by a hike on the Peace Trail in Rockport Park. Pictures of this event would make a nice addition to the town’s visitors’ Brochures.
On the Wednesday evening, there will be a discussion on ‘Inner Peace to World Peace’.
The library will also have a brown bag luncheon and present a discussion about the forgiveness process, and how to obtain interpersonal and personal peace.
International Day of Peace Celebration will have a panel of local religious leaders who will be addressing the importance of inner peace and how it relates to world peace. Community organizations will have booths, and there will be activities for the children.
The ‘Peace Meditation’, ceremony, and hike will take place Wednesday, September 21 from noon to 2:00 pm. The Wednesday discussion will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The lunch and discussion will be from noon to 1:00 pm September 23, and the Saturday International Day of Peace Celebration will be September 24 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Most of the activities will be held at the Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main Street here in Janesville.
