With spring just around the corner, local gardeners are probably starting to make plans for their lawns and gardens. To help them decide on designs and arrangements of beds, borders and containers, and the selection of plants, the Rotary Botanical Gardens will soon present its 2016 Spring Garden Symposium: Plantaholics Retreat.
The day will begin with a check-in and a silent auction. After the welcome and introductions, Christina Salwitz, a horticulturalist and personal garden coach, will give a talk on ‘Pots of Bold- Designing with Containers for Drama’.
Following the break, Andrew Bunting from the Chicago Botanic Garden will speak about perrenials. Afterward, the silent auction winners will be announced. The afternoon speaker will be Mark Dwyer from the hosting gardens, who will talk about the latest annuals.
Attendees will want to make sure that their digital Business Cards are updated and get any needed business card printing done as soon as possible, as the event may serve as a good networking opportunity for garden enthusiasts and professionals.
The event is scheduled for March 19 at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, and will start at 8:00 am. The symposium will come to a close at approximately 3:00 pm. Registration is required and the deadline for registration is this Wednesday, March 16. Registration can be completed online at the Rotary Botanical Gardens website.
