Hedberg Public Library will be holding its annual Peeps-o-Rama toward the end of March, celebrating those marshmallow chicks and bunnies, dusted with pink, yellow or purple sugar, known as “Peeps.”
Using their skills, imagination and at least one Peep, participants will decorate dioramas using the tasty treats. Since there will not be a particular theme, anything goes and participants can take inspiration from movies, Books, or pop culture.
Trophies will be awarded in each of four categories – adults, teens, children (individual or group), and mixed age group.
All dioramas must include one Peep, fit inside a boot or standard shoe box, have the creator’s name and the title of the piece on the box, and be turned in to the Children’s Desk between March 18 and 23.
Janesville viewers may vote for their favorite entries for the Peeples Choice Awards on Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Trophies will be awarded, and the dioramas will be displayed from March 25 to April 8.
Children who win contests like this one often want to have their pictures taken with their entries and trophies. The pictures may then go to nearby Print shops to be added to family newsletters or duplicated for family and friends.
The Hedberg Public Library is located at 316 South Main Street. Registration will not be necessary.
