The Janesville recreational department is hosting several fun-filled activity days for children over the next few weeks.

'One Day Fun Days' have been set up to help occupy kids while their parents get a break.

The first is a ‘Frozen’ themed event that allows children to build a snowman, go on a scavenger hunt, and dress up in their favorite costumes from the animated Disney hit. 'Messy Munchkins' will have splatter painting and a shaving cream slip and slide. Both of these events are for children between the ages of three and eight.

Children aged 6 to 12 can register for ‘All Sorts of Sports’, where they can engage in different sports games, or ‘Spa-tacular’ where kids can make their own eye masks and be pampered.

Other fun days include ‘Come to the Circus’, ‘Fire and Rescue’, ‘Over the Rainbow’, and ‘Monsters in Training’. All events are for either 3-to-8-year-olds or 6-to-12-year-olds. It’s likely the recreation department has used brochure printers to make a pamphlet that explains all the different programs.

Events costs $9 per child. Parents need to pre-register their children.

'One Day Fun Days' will take place on July 22 and July 27 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. The other activity days will be held on August 3, 5, 12, 17, 19, and 24 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

All events will take place at Palmer Park Hilltop Pavilion, located on South Harmony Drive and Arbor Drive.
