Janesville welcomes summer festivals

Early in August the Rock County Historical Society’s, 2020 63rd Tallman Arts Festival will be expecting over 1,800 guests. Ten categories of arts and crafts will be juried. Artists and crafts people that attend events such as this often bring Business Cards for those wishing to contact them later.

Local bands will be performing, and food trucks will be selling summer treats and beverages. There will be exhibits, a silent auction and a free family fun area.

Tallman Art Festival is scheduled for Sunday, August 2nd. Doors will open at 10:00 am and close around 4:00 pm. Rock County Historical Society is located at 426 N. Jackson Street.

Many members of our community will be turning out for Freedom Fest 2020 coming in late August. Between 25,000 and 30,000 people are expected. Admission, parking, concert and fireworks will be free.

Food will be available for minimal purchase or attendees can bring their own.

There will be a children’s area with games and projects including face painting, bouncy houses, a corn crib and balloon animals.

Music will be provided on stage by local artists. Day of Compassion, an integral part of the Freedom Fest, will start at 10:00 am and go until 2:00 pm. At this time Mercyhealth will offer health information and screenings.

Freedom Fest will take place at New Life Assembly of God, 2416 N. Wright Road, and is scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd with gates opening at 10:00 am.
