Charity group ECHO will be partnering with Educators, Credit Union, Gray Brewing Company, Timberhill Winery and Revv Aviation to host its annual fundraiser dance.
The Swing Into Spring Big Band Hangar Dance is coming in mid-April, and will have a 1940s theme. The $30 admission will include desserts, hors d’oeuvres, and water from the Sugar Exchange. Timberhill Winery and Gray Brewing Company will run a cash bar featuring wine, soda, beer, and hard seltzers. Soda tickets are $1.50 each and alcoholic drink tickets are $4. Activities for the evening will include a 50/50 raffle and a wine pull.
For guests a little rusty on their swing dancing, there will be dance lessons an hour before the band begins playing at 7:00 pm. The band for the evening will be Ladies Must Swing, an all-female 18-piece big band including saxophones, clarinets, trombones, trumpets, piano, percussion, bass, and vocals.
Couples attending themed dances such as this often dress the part and have pictures taken of them in their attire. These photos often go to local Stationery printers or Print shops to be included in family newsletters and yearly Calendars.
The event organizers are hoping to raise $20,000 to help ECHO with its annual budget. ECHO is a Janesville organization dedicated to meeting basic human needs such as housing and food.
Swing into Spring Dance will take place April 14 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Revv Aviation at Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, 4606 S Atlantis Drive.
