Janesville steps out to end Alzheimer's

This month, Janesville residents can walk for a good cause. Along with raising awareness, the ‘2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s’ will help fund research and support.

The event features a two-mile course. Participants can register online or on the day of the event. While there is no fee to register, participants are asked to make a personal donation and be dedicated to raising money for the cause. By raising at least $500, individuals can become a champions’ club member, with benefits such as a medal and recognition. People can also join a team and raise money together if they prefer.

During the walk, participants will have special opportunities to become advocates for Alzheimer’s. Likewise, people can volunteer to be on the planning committee. In order to help with registration, water stations, and other aspects of the walk, volunteers can also choose to give their time on the day of the race.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a nationwide event, and walks can be found on the organization’s website. Popular events like these often utilize banner printing services; since Banners can be seen from a distance, these large Signs are an effective promotional tool.

The event takes place on September 13 at Palmer Park located at 2501 Palmer Drive. Registration begins at 8:00 am with a ceremony starting at 9:00 am. The race begins at 9:30 am.
