What's Happening in Janesville, WI…

Local runners and walkers will be heading for the 14th annual Janesville Festival Foods Turkey Trot before digging into Thanksgiving dinner.

The trot will have a five-mile timed run, a two-mile untimed walk/fun run and a two-mile Dog Jog. Along with its mission to promote healthy lifestyles, the event will raise funds for the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and ECHO.

Adult pre-registration for the five-mile run, Dog Jog, for two-mile walk and fun run will be $25 while children (those under 18) registration for any of these will be $15. Adult fees after November 1st will go up to $30 and on the race eve and day will top out at $35.

Swag includes race shirts sporting this year’s Turkey Trot graphic design.

Event participants will be placed in four waves at two different start lines. Wave one will be those runners out for the five-mile run; wave two for the two-mile fun run and wave three will be for the two-mile walk. Dogs and their owners will line up for the Dog Jog after the runners in the two-mile run and walk have left the starting line.

Bibs and shirts will be distributed in the Janesville Craig High School field house on Wednesday November 24th between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm and on race day after 6:30 am.

The Janesville Festival Foods Turkey Trot will be held at Craig High School, 401 S. Randall Avenue on November 25th beginning at 8:00 am.
