Janesville will be turning out for the 3rd annual Stride 4 Shelter 5k Run/Walk coming in mid-April.
The run will take participants along Rock River through Riverside Park, with the start and finish line at the park's North Pavilion.
Registration for the 5k will be $40, and it will be $20 for the one-mile Kids' Fun Run. Pre-registration will be available until April 11, and onsite registration/check-in on race day will be from 8:00 am to 9:45 am.
Runners and kids taking part in the 1-Mile Kids Fun Run will begin their runs at 10:00 am, and walkers may begin their walks after the runners have left the starting line. The runs will take place rain or shine.
Swag will include race bibs, event T-shirts, finisher medallions on lanyards, chip timing for races, and medals for the first three placed finishers in male, female, and youth categories.
Proceeds from the event will go to Rock Valley Community Programs, Inc., a transitional housing program for veterans that also offers food, utilities, transportation, and case management.
Supporters of events like these often get their flyer printing done at local Print shops and place Flyers in their VFWs and other veterans-supported places.
Stride 4 Shelter has been scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at Riverside Park's North Pavilion, which is at 2600 Parkside Drive.
