Janesville’s Renaissance Faire is just around the corner.
Lays will be sung by sea shanty, madrigal, folk, and Near East singers, and dancing performances will be country and belly. Grey Aengus will be presenting Renaissance instruments.
Military from the 16th Century will be the theme of GSM-Bristol’s Entertainment, and Interactive Education program while 14th century warfare and weapons will be covered by Living Manuscript. A Siege Weapon display will be presented by Gryphon Pourssivant, and To the Point will have a drama, comedy, combat routine. Learn to throw knives and axes from a Midwest Ace and Knife Throw demonstration, Kazimir the Hungry will be doing a little sword swallowing, and Dan the Magic Man will be demonstrating mentalism and magic.
Two Noisy Knights will be bringing fairy tales to life, Mustafa Ali will relate Near East tales, and Magnolia will be causing mayhem and weaving her own versions of stories. Accounts of the high seas and egos will be told by Adventures in Privateering.
Over 50 merchandise vendors will be selling clothing, masks, soap, and numerous Renaissance items. Seven food vendors will be offering concessions like pickles, soda, Italian ice and turkey legs.
Many guests will be dressed in Ole England attire and pictures taken during the event will go to local Print shops and Stationery printers for unique Letterheads and personal stationery.
The Renaissance Faire will be May 19 and 20, 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, at Traxler Park, 600 N. Main Street.
