Janesville readies for Halloween fun

October in Janesville means plenty of fall and Halloween activities including crypt tours, corn mazes and hayrides.

Spirits in the Night guided tours will take the brave through three levels of mysterious disappearances, dark rituals, and guides who will relate the legend of the crypt. The SpookEasy will be open for food and beverages after the tour.

Skelly’s Farm market will have two new corn mazes: the Adventure Maze will be for families and the Impossible Maze comes with a smartphone GPS-enabled map and a phone number for those who get stuck. This venue also has wagon rides, an apple cannon, an obstacle race course, the Ducky Derby, and a pumpkin patch.

The Enchanted Forest & Hollywood Hayride will have a candle-lit walk with actors and scenery depicting fairytales and nursery rhymes. The hayride will stop at popular movie sets where characters will give out trinkets.

Spirits in the Night tours will be every 10 minutes Thursday through Saturday from now until Halloween from 7:30 pm until 10 pm on Thursdays and until 10:30 pm on weekends.

The Skelly’s Corn Maze is open now daily from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm until Halloween at 2713 S. Hayner Road.

Parents with little ones will want to mark their Calendars for The Enchanted Forest and Hayride which will be at Palmer Park, 2501 Palmer Drive, October 18 through 21 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm during the week and until 8:30 pm on the weekend.
