Janesville looks forward to Warbird Weekend

Janesville aviation enthusiasts will be heading out to Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in a few days to be a part of Janesville Warbird Weekend 2019.

Six planes will be available for air rides. These include a B-29 Superfortress, B-24 Liberator, P-51 Mustang, AT-6 WASP Texan, C-47, and a PT-13 Stearman. Ground tours will be on offer too.

Those interested in purchasing tickets for these rides should purchase them online as they usually sell out early.

Some other aircraft will be static displays. These will be Petie 2nd P-51 Mustang, Loach OHGA Cayuse helicopter, Hawker 800XP, Falcon 900, Nanchange CJ-6 and Aero L-29 Delfin. On the Sunday, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm the Rockford Health System will be displaying a Eurocopter EC 145 now known as the Airbus Helicopter H145. This is a four-ton-class twin-engine light utility helicopter.

Picture-taking is encouraged and many photographers that attend events such as this like to take their photos to local Print shops for poster printing.

WWII and Vietnam Reenactors will provide 1940s music and 15 WWII armored vehicles and trucks.

At noon on Saturday, there will be a 100 Beechcraft Bonanza mass flyover as the planes head for EAA AirVenture. That evening, the public is invited to attend Swing and Wings 2019, a 1940s party, in a hangar.

Janesville Warbird Weekend 2019 will be July 19 to 21 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
