Many Janesville chili connoisseurs will be heading out for the Original Chilimania over a weekend in mid-September. Over 6,000 people are expected to attend.
As in past years, Chilimania will hold the CASI-Sanctioned Wisconsin State Championship Chili Cook-Off. It will also include both Salsa and Traditional Chili Cooking contests.
On Saturday starting at 3:00 pm, guests are invited to grab spoons, cups and ballots to taste the chili entries and vote for their favorite concoctions for the People’s Choice award.
Live music will be on 105.9 The Hog main stage continuously for the two days. Headliners will include Back in Black – AC/DC tribute band on Saturday night at 10:15 pm. Bands like this usually bring Promotional Products with them for fans to purchase.
General admission will be $10 and children under the age of 13 will get in free when accompanied by an adult. Entrance to the Dedicated VIP Area will be $60. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
All proceeds from this event will go to raise funds for the Chilimania Scholarship Fund and to support community-based organizations and projects. This event has raised more than $200,000 since its inception back in 1990.
Chilimania will take place on 99 N. Henry Street in Edgerton on September 11 and 12 from 10:30 am until 11:30 pm. Parking will be free.
